The stars are out and can be clearly seen from Plot No.8 Wharncliffe Allotments.
Our friends from Liverpool Astronomical Society (LAS) support our annual Open Days, each year setting-up a stall of tripods and telescopes, all pointing skyward. The LAS guys provide information and talks about the societies activity and an opportunity for visitors to observe amazing close-up views of the sun's solar flares and surface activity.
Jo and Kirsty decided to make a few improvements on their plot including painting their sheds. Jo's idea was to paint a night sky scene on one shed. Liverpool Astronomical Society's Dave Bentley was inspired to suggested a star constellation that represents the alignment of the stars on the date of Jo's birth.

Dave came-up with a way of transferring the night scene from paper to the shed, no mean task, as it had to wrap around 3 sides of the shed. The results however are superb the constellation is a constant reminder of Jo's birth.

Not to be out-done, Kirsty chose to have her (green) shed, painted pink!
