Came across the idea for a wood store from Richard Chivers, Allotmenteer and Blogger (Sharpen Your Spades).

A central wood store could resolve some of the issues we face when it comes to the safe storage of wood on our plots. Space is a valuable commodity for each member wanting to utilize every inch of the land for growing produce.

Having a wood store means you always know where to find spear wood that can be used on your own projects, for example; when carrying out repairs to old or damaged sheds and potting benches, build raised beds or creating simple wildlife habitats. It would also mean less waist and the potential for wood you don't use from rotting in a lost corner of your plot.

If think a wood store at Wharncliffe Allotments is a good idea, or have other ideas of your own, make a suggestion to the Committee to have it as an item for discussion during a member’s meetings.
