Visitors to the Open Day may be forgiven for thinking a buzzing sound was a swarm from one of Whanrcliffe Allotments Honey Bee Hives. The sound that could be heard overhead wasn’t swarming drone bees, but a remote controlled drone camera being controlled by Iain Banks.

Iain is an enthusiast and talented dronarian, putting his skills to good use for visitors during Wharncliffe Allotments' Open Day.

Iain, is a young and responsible person, he explained the importance of good control and safe operation of drones.

He went on to say "drone owners must abide by a new drone code which means that drones will be kept within the pilot's line of sight and must not be flown above a maximum height of 400 feet.

We were delighted when Iain kindly provided Wharncliffe Allotments with the footage he took of the site during his visit.
